Message from our Founder - Lill Egan![]() The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) continues to evolve, with an increasing national focus on the oversight and regulation of unregistered providers. While unregistered providers play a role in delivering flexible and diverse supports, recent discussions across the sector have highlighted concerns around quality, safeguarding, compliance, and accountability.
As a result, there is growing scrutiny from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to ensure all participants receive safe, high-quality supports regardless of provider registration status.
In response to this evolving environment, Dantae Support Services remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of care, governance, and compliance. Dantae Support Services will continue to align its practices with NDIS expectations and proactively monitor any regulatory changes. This includes implementing robust internal policies, ensuring all staff meet appropriate screening and training requirements, and maintaining clear documentation and reporting processes.
Dantae Support Service's priority is to ensure that all participants are supported in a safe, ethical, and person-centred manner. By staying ahead of sector changes and reinforcing strong operational practices.
Dantae Support Services will ensure participants remain protected, services remain compliant, and trust is upheld across all aspects of care delivery.
New Staff & New RolesWe are pleased to share an internal staffing update with our team, participants, families, and stakeholders. Laina has officially moved into the role of Compliance, Quality and WHS Officer, where she will be supporting Dantae Support Services in strengthening our focus on quality service delivery, workplace health and safety, continuous improvement, and compliance across the organisation.
We are also pleased to advise that Krystal has stepped into the role of Rostering Coordinator, taking over from Sharyn during this transition period. Krystal will continue in this position while the full vetting process, interviews, and final appointment decision are completed, helping to ensure continuity of support and stability for the people we serve. Important Updates - Warm Farewell to Sharyn Head![]() On behalf of Dantae Support Services, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Sharyn for her time, dedication, and contributions during her employment.
Sharyn's support and commitment to both the organisation and the participants have been valued and appreciated. Sharyn has played a role in helping us deliver quality care, and we acknowledge the efforts you have made throughout your time with Dantae Support Services.
As Sharyn moves on to the next stage of her journey, we wish Sharyn every success and fulfillment in her future endeavours. We hope that the experience and skills gained during her time with Dantae Support Services continue to support her in achieving her goals.
Thank you once again Sharyn, for your contribution, and we wish you all the very best moving forward. Service HighlightsIndividualised Living Options
Community Access
Tips and ResourcesMaking Home Life Safer and EasierIn-Home Support can make a real difference for participants who want to remain comfortable, safe, and independent in their own home. Dantae Support Services explains that this support can include help with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and medication support, all tailored to the individual’s needs and routines.
For participants and families, this is a helpful reminder that support at home is not only about getting tasks done, but also about reducing stress, improving wellbeing, and making everyday life more manageable. With the right support in place, home can continue to be a place of confidence, dignity, and stability. Understanding Supported Independent LivingSupported Independent Living, or SIL, is designed for people who want to live more independently while still receiving help with daily tasks. Dantae Support Services describes SIL as flexible, personalised support that can include assistance with personal care, household duties, routines, and skill development, while also encouraging confidence and community connection.
This can be a valuable option for participants who are ready for greater independence but still benefit from regular support to maintain safety, choice, and control in their day-to-day life. Understanding what SIL offers can help participants and families make informed decisions about the type of living support that best suits their goals. Participant Success Story - A Story To Knit Us All TogetherJade* is such a beautiful person, and it has been incredibly special to watch her journey. We have supported Jade* for a long time, and seeing her come from hospital into a unit that at first felt so empty has been emotional in the best way. With the care, patience, and support of her support workers, Jade* has slowly unpacked all of her treasured possessions and turned that space into a home filled with comfort, warmth, and familiarity.
It has been wonderful to see Jade* settle back into the things that bring her joy. Right now, that is knitting — something she loves so much that she is even teaching her support workers how to knit. Moments like that say so much about Jade's* spirit, her kindness, and the joy she brings to those around her.
One of the most beautiful additions to Jade's* life is her puppy, Tom*, who is so dearly loved and brings her so much comfort and companionship. Together, they make the sweetest pair.
Jade* has come such a long way, and it is truly heartwarming to see her feeling settled, happy, and surrounded by the things and people she loves. She is living her best life, and it is a privilege to witness. *Name change for privacy and compliance. More Exciting News Inclusive Activities - Colour Scavenger Hunt (Nature)Enjoy the fresh air with a fun and accessible Colour Scavenger Hunt in Nature 🌿🍂 This Community Participation activity is designed for participants to complete with support from Dantae Support Services staff or family and can be adapted to suit different abilities, mobility levels, and support needs.
To get started, choose a safe and comfortable location such as the backyard, a local park, a garden, or even a verandah or window view. Create a simple colour list such as green, yellow, brown, red, and blue, then encourage the participant to look for something in nature that matches each colour. This could include leaves, flowers, bark, the sky, or even a bird or butterfly.
Participants can point to items, talk about them, take photos, collect safe fallen items, or mark them off on a printed sheet. The activity supports communication, observation, gentle movement, sensory engagement, and time outdoors, while also creating an enjoyable shared experience.
To extend the activity, participants can use their collected items or photos to make a collage, scrapbook page, or display for home or the next Dantae Support Services newsletter. Things To Do In The CommunityQLD Accessible beachesCity of Moreton Bay’s coastline hosts many beautiful beaches. For people with limited mobility, a day at the beach may not be possible.
Our accessible beaches initiative allows everyone to enjoy a day in the sun, sand and surf. Under the initiative, we provide beach wheelchairs and beach matting at two patrolled beaches.
Beach wheelchairs have large wheels, providing easy navigation across sand and rocks. You can take the Sandcruiser® into shallow water or enjoy a swim using the Mobi-Chair®.
